The following document represents a student's year-long investigation of the engineering systems of the Tree House Residence Hall with a particular focus on the structural system and its relation to the building's unique architecture.  The purpose of this report is to understand the existing systems, to determine areas for potential improvement, and lastly to compare the existing systems with a proposed redesign.  The scope of the report includes a thorough description of the existing engineering systems, a redesign of the structural system in reinforced concrete, a cost and schedule analysis, and a redesign of the glazing framing systems.  The executive summary and full report are provided below.
